the Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (SHA) provides quality affordavble housing to low-income families and individuals through the effective and efficient administration of housing assistance programs.


To create and cultivate opportunities for program participants to achieve self-sufficiency and economic independence.

Documentation Necessary for Eligibility

  1. Birth Certificate (for each family member who will be on the lease)
  2. Social Security card (for each family member who will be on the lease)
  3. Verification of income
  4. Valid declaration of legal immigration status (if necessary)
  5. Other documentation deemed necessary for eligibility

Income Requirements for Eligibility

Rents are based upon anticipated total family incom less deductions. Income includes that of all members of the family such as wages, overtime, commisions, AFDC, pensions, and alimony. The size of the dwelling unit does not effect the rent. The maximum income for number of persons in a household is as follows (as of 02/04):
